During this Yin Yoga intro class you will learn:
- what is yin yoga
- basic theory and philosophy of the Daoist form of yoga
- what is Chi / Prana
- how to correctly use the breath in Yin Yoga
- overview of the fundamental Yin Yoga poses
- why we hold the Yin Yoga poses for so long
- which parts of our bodies are we working during a Yin Yoga class
- Yin and Yang basics
- connective tissues, bones, ligaments, fascia
- brief overview of meridians and subtle energy
Some of the benefits of Yin yoga are:
- Calming and balancing to the mind and body
- Regulates energy in the body
- Increases mobility in the body, especially the joints and hips
- Lowering of stress levels (no one needs that)
