Urban Bliss Yoga was founded by Lizzy Hoffmann in 2006 in a little yellow house, located in the quaint little city of Cornelius, NC.
It was a residential house that was zoned for mixed use, residential and/or commercial.
The home was built in 1937 and in the winter months the water pipes froze on a regular basis shutting off the water supply to the house.
The very drafty crawl space underneath the house let a constant freezing cold winter breeze in the yoga rooms that even the 6 space heaters we used weren’t able to heat the rooms above 70 degrees…
Our first 200 hour yoga teacher training as well as regular Yoga Classes were taught at our first location in Cornelius.
We had to use both yoga rooms for the yoga classes as all the students wouldn’t fit in the main yoga room.
This is where Urban Bliss Yoga started…
